Panic Attacks – Explained

I GET PANIC ATTACKS  . . . OVER SILLY THINGS!

Here’s What Happened, and how it can be changed . . .

One upon a time . . . possibly before you can remember, your body and mind were tired, stressed, and overwhelmed – that’s a normal part of life!

Your subconscious mind used its natural protective response – “fight or flight” and induced a panic attack, as it mis-perceived that you were in danger at the time.  This would be a normal reaction if you were being chased by a bear, or other similar dangerous situation, but at this time of being tired, stressed, and overwhelmed, your mind did not know of any other way to protect you from what it ‘felt’ was dangerous.

Your mind relates the panic attack to the situation you were in when the first panic attack occurred, it could be driving, having dinner, socializing, etc.  Your subconscious mind developed an “anchor” (trigger) to this situation.

Driving = panic attack, and eventually . . . it happens again, possibly at another time when you are feeling tired, overwhelmed or stressed.

Panic attacks are far from fun, they are quite scary!  Eventually, after you have had a few panic attacks, your mind starts to “fear” having another.  Fear breeds more fear, and of course, the panic attacks start to happen predictably in the same situations.

This in turn, causes you to avoid those situations at all costs, which then turns into a “phobia” of these situations. Avoiding the situations in which your panic attacks occur can be debilitating and affect your life, and the lives of others . . . friends, family and loved ones.

Using Hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques, we regress back to the first time you felt a panic attack and “change” the situation.  We do not change the fact that the situation happened, but we change the “feelings” that your subconscious mind attached to this situation.  We then use some automatic programming techniques and new “anchors” to cause your body to have a different, more calming reaction to the situation that used to cause the panic attacks.
